About DNCC
Double Nickel Cattle Company was established in 2012, when our family
jointly decided we wanted to start raising cattle officially. We have been in the cattle business for years as it spans back to our Uncle Kermit first taking my brother out when he was 9 and primarily showing Maine Anjous. We are forever grateful he brought cattle into our life. My brother and I, never looked back.
When choosing where to take the business we ultimately landed the focus on Shorthorns. We love their docility, great mothering ability, and good fertility rate. When it comes to the beef, the increased marbling and tenderness are second too none and the feeders have great earlier finishing abilities. Beef is available year round, don't hesitate to reach out to get on our list.
Herman (Dad) and Nick Stier (son) are the official backbone of the operation. Nick lives in Brimfield, IL with his wife Sarah, sons, Isaiah and Levi, and new baby Susanna who just joined the family in August. Dad and Mom live not far down the highway in Trivoli, IL. The close proximity of the farms make it very easy to operate day-to-day operations. As far as me (Abby) I help dad run those operations while also running my photography business, Double Nickel Photo + Design. Meanwhile Nick does his day job at CAT as a Mechanical Engineer.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with us! The farm is always open for visitors.
